Canadian Humanitarian - trip to Uganda

Chobe Lodge

From November 5 - 11 Dick Northcott, David Northcott and Vern Hyde traveled from Ethiopia to Uganda.  They met with many great contacts aboiut setting up Humanitarian Projects in Uganda including Pres. Chatfield, Diana Ntono a Doctorate of Law and specialist in International relations, Ssimbwa Buslwa and Escewru Musa, Minister of Disaster Relief and Humanitarian work for Uganda.
Musa, top left, has become a great friend and advocate for the Church and partner in many Humanitarian projects.

After their meetings in Kampala and Lira, Elder & Sister Wallace met them in Northeastern Uganda for some site seeing and a day of rest and relaxation at the Chobe Safari Lodge.
We saw many animals, Giraffes,  antelope, baboons, hippos, cape buffalo, and warthogs.

The Cape Buffalo - one of the big five
Bet you can't guess what his name is.

Lots of Baboons

The hippo, hundreds of them, hang out in the cool water of the Nile River.  They hand out with all the ladies and males are not welcome unless they are the head of the harem.   Male calves are wisked away by their mothers and protected from the others because they will kill them.   They come out at night to graze on the grass.   They are Africa's most dangerous animal.

Wart Hog - Note that their necks are too short to graze without kneeling down.  (Design flaw?)
The view from the exercise room is rated as one of the top 5 in the World
overlooking the magnificent River Nile

Some pictures of a happy, relaxed crew.
