Gindo Town Part II

The celebration included many festivities with the children, guardians and Canadian Humanitarian Staff putting forth great effort to show their gratitude.

First the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Speeches - Ken and Audrey  - Vern (Auto Asmat)  The magic man and Deb Northcott

Then there was dancing.  Lots of shaking going on.

The ladies cooked all morning to make food for us.  They killed the ox in the  morning and fried it up on an open kitchen.

Gifts for all the kids.  It was fun to watch them and they were so polite and gracious.

The joy you feel does not get much better than this.  The joy comes from seeing these children blossom with confidence when they are given an opportunity to learn and grow.
We were grateful to be able to be a part of it.
